Parenting Sessions and Coaching:
Our early experiences with parents and caregivers inform our understandings of how family members relate to one another. As a parent, you may be finding that you are approaching family conflicts in the same manner as your parents did, regardless of whether or not you agreed with their practices and attitudes. For example, despite wanting to reach out and comfort your child following conflict, you instead may withdraw and become distant or lash out in anger. These patterns of behaviour typically start in our early life, and as a result, can feel natural and unchangeable. Parent sessions can help you to become more aware of these patterns. After the underlying issues and related emotions are worked through, it will be much easier to respond to your child in a different way.
